rules
battle of the run clubs 2026
how it works
1. club composition
- unlimited roster size - add as many runners as you want
- only your top 5 runners each week count toward club total
- everyone else is still tracked individually
2. weekly scoring
- week runs sunday to saturday
- top 5 runners' mileage is combined for club total
- challenge type voted on each week
- individual points awarded to top performers
3. the run together rule ⚠️
your top 5 runners must run together at least once a month.
- this is run club, not "scam the competition"
- proof required: matching strava activities on same date/time
- doesn't have to be all 5 - any combination counts (3/5, 4/5, etc.)
- failure to meet this = club disqualified for that month
- builds community, not just individual stat gaming
4. season winner
- 12-week season: january 5 - march 29, 2026
- club with most combined miles wins
- prize: syndicate running apparel package
- individual top performers also recognized
5. verification
- all activities auto-sync from strava
- only "run" activities count
- suspicious activity patterns will be reviewed
- syndicate running reserves right to disqualify cheaters
frequently asked questions
what if someone on my top 5 gets injured?
your next-ranked runner automatically fills in. you always have your best 5 counting.
can we add runners mid-season?
yes! new runners can join anytime. their miles count from the week they join forward.
how do you verify the "run together" rule?
we check for strava activities with matching dates/times/locations. club admins submit proof via the admin panel. we trust the community but verify.
what counts as "running together"?
same date, within 30 minutes start time, similar route/location. doesn't have to be the exact same pace - just the same run.
what if we're not in the same city?
virtual run clubs welcome! coordinate a time and run "together" remotely. still counts as long as it's the same scheduled group run.
spirit of the competition
this isn't about finding the 5 fastest runners in the world and calling it a "club."
it's about actual running communities pushing each other to run more, showing up for group runs, and repping your crew.
run clubs that actually run together will have the advantage - as it should be.
